Pass Plus Motor Insurance

Is pass plus motor insurance really worth the effort? Which motor insurance discounts are made available to people who have passed the course? Is it easy?

Here in the UK, pass plus is operated by the DSA (driving standards agency) who administer the scheme. Pass plus was set up by the DSA in co-ordination with insurance companies who wanted to reward younger drivers who took a responsible attitude toward road safety.

The course is based on six separate one hour lessons. You can only take the course once you have passed your practical driving test. Your driving instructor has to be officially recognised to be able to instruct on the pass plus motor insurance course.

The procedure is that you take the six lessons. Each lesson is designed to educate a newly qualified driver in safe driving techniques. The lessons concentrate on areas such as driving at night, motorway driving and driving in poor weather.

Once you have completed the full driving course of six lessons, your driving instructor will send off your documentation and then you will be issued with an official certificate.

This is your proof that you have passed the pass plus course and it allows you a significant discount with UK motor insurance companies.

We recommend a selection of UK insurance companies the most generous of these, towards pass plus will allow you up to 20% off for pass plus.
