Nationwide mortgages are the second largest mortgage provider in the UK and the largest online mortgage provider. Nationwide also provides a complete end to end online application, with only the Yorkshire Building Society and Northerm Rock offering a similar process.
Nationwide offer just three types of mortgages:
- Fixed rate mortgages
- Your interest rate is fixed for a period of time
- At the end of the fixed rate period you move to our variable Base Mortgage Rate (BMR) for the remainder of the mortgage term
- No extended tie-in after the fixed rate period
- Flexible features such as overpayments, underpayments and payment holidays
- Tracker mortgages
- No standard legal or valuation fees to pay
- A switch and fix facility allows you to switch from your tracker to a fixed rate at any time without any early repayment charge (a reservation fee may apply to the new product)
- No extended tie in after the tracker rate period
- At the end of the tracker rate period you move to our competitive variable Base Rate Mortgage (BMR). Alternatively, you may switch to another Nationwide product, subject to availability and your eligibility at the time
- Flexible features such as overpayments, underpayments and payment holidays
- Variable mortgage (Base Mortgage Rate)
- A very competitive variable rate mortgage
- Flexible benefits with overpayments, underpayments and more
- Guaranteed to be no more than 2% above the Bank of England base rate
- No reservation fee
- No early repayment charges
